Relationships dont last?

Question

Why do you think relationships bf,gf, husband wife ect? 
I understand if it toxic or abusive or cheats but  other then that how come people dont last these day?
I feel things get tough and people just walk away instead of fighting through there rough times together. 
I also believe relationship go through tough times to test how strong they are. What do you think

Women were very much forced to stay with men back in the day, pacific ally BC of the fact that they were required to prove their spouse did something wrong worth divorcing over and many women were unable to do this. When no fault divorce became law they were able to get divorced a lot easier.

Well, for one, women aren’t stoned for divorcing. People are recognizing and accepting that people change. It’s normal to change. Women (and men too) have way more opportunities and exposure to different things. They can form identities that aren’t just wide and mother. Also people are living longer. So that’s more time to grow apart. More time to evolve as a person. More time to realize you’re in a relationship that isn’t working anymore. More resources to be independent from a spouse.

Well for one, I think people deflect red flags. They cover them up with gifts, trips, future plans etc. The other person gets caught up in those deflections and it takes awhile to truly see what’s going on. And two, it’s not that there are less successful relationships today but that there are less forced relationships today. Forced  as in not allowed to divorce or unable to take care of themselves as a single person and such.

I agree that a lot of people don’t work through difficult things and they tend to walk away very easily. My husband and I had some trouble early on in our marriage, but we worked through it. I didn’t really ask for advice at the time, but I know if I did, people would have said we needed to split up. I’m glad we stuck it out and I really can’t imagine my life without him. 
I’ve noticed on this and other apps, when people ask for advice about their relationship, a LOT of people tell them to leave their partner. It’s very strange to me to see that on things I believe a lot of people could work through if they really wanted to.

This question annoys me. It implies that the younger generations, starting with millennials, are more flaky and don't try as hard as the older generations. This is entirely false and a ridiculous assumption. What's changed? People aren't forced into marriages and divorce is no longer looked down on. People are encouraged to love themselves and find someone who loves them. People are encouraged to leave toxic and abusive relationships. All of these things used to be taboo subjects that no one spoke of. Now I do believe that better insurance to cover therapists and counseling plus letting go of the stigma associated with using these services for relationships will help with keeping some marriages together. But even that is starting to change for the better.

Maybe people just want to be happy.
Maybe it’s okay to put yourself over your relationship.
Maybe people don’t want to put in the work (which says something)
Maybe people grow apart. They fell in love in one stage of life and out of love in another.
Maybe they want different things.
Maybe some relationships are meant to last and others are not.
Staying with in a relationship because it’s convenient or because it’s easy might be worse. 
It takes courage to end a relationship you are no longer happy in and frankly I applaud anyone who has the courage to leave a relationship that no longer makes them happy.

It’s not necessarily the “tough times together” stuff for me. It’s the initial connection or lack of. That’s what your relationship is based on, that’s it’s foundation. You aren’t going to work if the foundation isn’t solid. Some people are too distracted by something to realize they aren’t compatible. Like for example, any relationship I’ve started off as a FWB with has just died the second the sex started to fade and we realized we had nothing in common. Sometimes another thing is you’re just in different places in life and one persons growing and the other person stays behind or becomes comfortable and content and the other isn’t. Different goals that don’t work together, different approaches to life, lack of communication. 
It isn’t necessarily a bad thing that a lot of relationships are failing now a days each “failure” is just another step closer to finding someone who’s learned the same lessons and grown as a person that can match your energy.

I don’t think it’s some cosmic test to see how strong the relationship is. 
I think people experience hardships and don’t always know how to cope in healthy ways, running or avoiding is the unhealthy coping technique. Relationships end because of this. 
Sometimes things just get too hard for too long and the healthy thing is to walk away. 
Relationships ending totally sucks and it hurts, but I don’t always think it’s because people can’t withstand the hardships.

It's pretty easy to get divorced now, so for a lot of people it is deciding whether you want to put time and effort into a healthy/functioning relationship or give up when things aren't right. I think we also have so much fake "perfect" couples on social media and tv etc that when we have problems we instantly go "it should be like that so this must be wrong". It is easier to cheat, easier to prove someone has cheated, we put more attention into the wedding than the marriage a lot of the time, honestly I think we've just moved to wanting everything to look/feel perfect so when it isn't we think it's much bigger problem. Or the opposite, we ignore all the problems because we WANT it to be perfect and end up marrying the wrong person.
I'm personally not in favour of marriage but I promised my partner if things went well we would get married before he is 30 because he does believe in marriage. We have 2 kids now and I'm looking at eloping next year in order to hold up our agreement. I'm fully committed to him/our relationship/family so I work through our problems when they pop up, I deal with them while they're small so it doesn't take over. Most people I know ignore small problems then get consumed by them when they become big problems and then their relationship falls apart. 
I'll also add a lot of women now have financial independence when is huge, you don't necessarily have to stay with a shitty spouse anymore in order to survive/have money/a home.
