Space and living arrangements with newborn

Hey guys 👋

So me and my SO lives with his mom at the moment while we get an apartment in January or February. I expressed to my SO that when we have our baby (due December 18th), that I want us to have our space with her for a few days after she comes home. Space to bond with her by ourselves, time to create a schedule, and space to understand her. He didn't understand that. He stated that if his mom askes for the baby he would bring take her to her or anyone who askes. I feel like what I feel is very reasonable. I would like everyone to take a step back, I know that you are excited but allow us time as new parents to get everything straight before just handing her off. I don't know what to say to him so that we can be on the same page, especially as new parents. What should I say? do you guys think I am being unreasonable? What would you guys do? Thank you.
