Naming second baby the alternate name for first baby?

Question

When I was pregnant with our son, we had boy and girl names picked out. We obviously named him the boy name haha but we still love the girl name. 
Now I’m pregnant again (not sure the gender) and my husband wants to use the same girl name we had picked out previously. 
I’m feeling a little weird about it, because that name was for our first baby and I want to pick a name that feels like it was picked for THIS baby. 
So, what do you think? Is it weird to name the second baby the alternate name that we had picked out for our first baby?

Not at all. The baby girl didn’t exist because you had a boy, so you can definitely use that name. If you had a girl and lost her that would be different.

I don’t think it’s weird to use the name that didn’t get used, but if you don’t want to, you don’t have to. That feeling is valid too. 
We had a daughter and plan on using the boy name we had picked if we have a son next. But my parents picked a new potential boy name each time my mom was pregnant (they ended up with four daughters).

Not weird - we had the same name picked for a girl both times. But ended up having two boys.

I don’t think it’s weird at all but it just depends on how you feel. Maybe look at some names and see if you can find a new one you love and maybe he might like it too.

Nope not weird! If our first had been a boy we would have named him Elliot. Considering naming our second girl Elliette haha

I’m going against all the other people commenting here! I feel the same - that name was going to be for THAT baby, even though it wasn’t a boy/girl. So I have never used names for subsequent children that were shortlisted for a child before them.

We did this, because we didn't love other names as much as this one.
First kid ended up beeing a girl and we had chosen: Ariana and Giuliano
For the second (which ended up to be a girl again) we had chosen: Giuliana and Giuliano 😁 
Now I'm pregnant with our third and we are screwed concerning names 😅
