C-section recovery support?

I’m planning to have a c-section and I’ve heard a support band can be helpful afterwards. Do you use it while you’re still healing, or after your incision is closed? Also, which one do you recommend?

The one the hospital provided did the job. I didn’t feel I needed to wear it long enough to spend money on something “fancy”. I really only wore mine until my staples were out.

The hospital may give you one so you could ask before buying your own. I have a pile of them because I’ve had 3 abdominal surgeries (2 were c-sections). Wear it if it’s comfortable. I had a pressure dressing for a week with my c-sections, so I didn’t use the band because it didn’t do anything for my comfort (and won’t do anything for your waist line). My splenectomy I did use it because it was multiple incisions in various places and no pressure dressing. C-sections were way less painful than that surgery.

I used the one the hospital provided i used it delivery up til 6 weeks while healing. If i didn’t use it after delivery i felt my stomach was going to fall out 😩

I didn’t get this one. I order one of a surgical site that was for tummy tuck patients and I loved it it was more contour to my body . After my delivery i noticed the hospital provided one too but I used mine. My doctor said to only use it when out of bed , which is more comfy but I always forgot and tried to atleast wear it when I went for a walk . U wear it 24 hrs after the surgery . It felt ok for walking in but I didn’t use it much I got tired of putting it on and off
