Told my best friend I'm pregnant

I made a post asking about who my babies father would be. My husband had raped me while I was on my period... And two weeks later he left me and my best friend came by to comfort me.. We got drunk together and watched Lucifer on Netflix and ended up sleeping together... I found out from my doctor it is possible to get pregnant on your period so I was confused on who the father was since it was a two week difference. I read each and every one of your comments and I do deserve better and I will not be taking my husband back. I finally opened up to my best friend about being pregnant... I was honest that I'm not 100% sure on who the father is and he asked if the baby isn't his if he could still step up and be a father figure... I asked why he would want to step up for a child that isn't his and he said he loves me and that me and the baby deserve better than my abusive husband. He told me he understands if I'm not ready for a relationship with him but he would like to step up and be a father regardless if he's the dad. I started crying. I'm honestly really scared of what's in store for my life... I always thought I would be nothing without my husband, but maybe I will be just fine without him. I hate I waisted 6 years with someone like him. But my life isn't over. I hope the universe has some good things in store. If not I'll figure it out

Laura: Thank you and we actually we both didn't know if we wanted to go that far in our friendship. Especially since I'm going through a divorce. It wasn't that he didn't want a relationship. More so that we didn't really know if we wanted to go that far yet and I still need time to heal from my soon to be ex husband. My best friend also isn't asking to be in a relationship, just to be a father figure regardless if the baby is his or not. He would like to be in one, but we both know I need time to heal.
