Penis irriatation

Question

My son just turned 2 and always complains about his penis hurting. I clean it. He’s circumcised. It looks red and irritated. The doctor said she didn’t see anything wrong with it but it’s always hurting him. What could this be and how do I make it better? I’ve tried aquaphor but I feel like there’s something wrong

Did they test him for a UTI? Is he able to tell you if it hurts on the inside or the outside?

My first thought was that he’s not sure how to express what he’s feeling - my oldest did that around 2-3 years old...constantly told me it was hurting, but the difference is my son’s looked fine. I noticed he would tell me it hurt every time he got an erection. It was really hurting, it was just a different sensation and he didn’t know how to describe it.
However - if your son’s visibly appears red and irritated, it probably isn’t that. And if it is that obvious but the pediatrician is dismissing it, I’d see if you can get him in to see a pediatric urologist. Or at minimum, get a second opinion from another doctor

Is he still in diapers?  Maybe thats irritating him try undies if so.
