Sound machines

Question

I have a 20month old little girl who has always slept with a box fan on instead of a sound machine. But as she gets older I’m thinking a sound machine would be better especially once she goes to a regular bed so she doesn’t get hurt. What are some good sound machines? And has anyone ever switched from something else as white noise to a sound machine is it a difficult transition?

This has white noise options and it’s programmable. You can also control it from your phone, which is great.

Not sure if you've done this or not but when I was considering using a white noise machine, I decided against it because of the negative impacts it can have on the child.

This one has several fan settings as well as other sounds and lights. It is small and chargeable. We take it with us on trips and in the car sometimes, even.

This works really good for my daughter.   We combine it with an app called “white noise” on the iPad. So we use this and also play the app on the iPad at the same time. Works like a charm. 
However, with the app, it stops playing after 8 hours unless you upgrade to premium which is $40. We payed for the upgrade because we thought it was worth it.
