Girl name spelling? Boy name too girly?

Husband is French, I’m American. Living in France. We have a 2 year old son named Jude.

For this baby due in July, we are thinking

Clare (for a girl)

or Emile (for a boy) (eh-meal)

We have a huge connection to Ireland so that’s why we’re thinking of using the Irish spelling of the name Claire.

We finally found a boy’s name we both like. Would this pass in the US? It works perfectly in France but not sure how it’d be received there.
