Told this guy I liked him

I have been talking to thus guy I met through my sister for a few weeks. He he has been struggling to find work since Covid so he will do a bunch of mini under the table job to get by. I decided I wanted to really spend time with him so I asked him if he wanted to go out for the night and that it was on me. I think we should normalize women also paying for dates. Usually I actually go Dutch on first dates but I decided to be nice, especially if he's having a hard time with work. So we went out for dinner and we talked and had a really fun time. I can see why my sister likes hanging out with him. We went to the movies after and then we went back to my place. He saw I had a guitar and asked to play it. So we chilled around for a minute. I had some weed (the good shit) and we got high and decided to order MORE food. While we were eating again and hitting the bong I decided to just ask him. "How do you feel about me?" He said "I like you.... As a friend"

I said "Oh..." He asked "Why? Do you like me as more. " I was high and honest and said yes. He was like "Oh! Yeah I don't like you like that AT ALL!" Okay we didn't have to add emphasis on the at all but all right. After that I just felt awkward. He said he had fun and hopes we can hang out again or the three of us could(my sister included). And that was that. It kind of sucked but at the end of day he didn't owe me anything. I choice to invite him out and pay for everything. He didn't owe me a kiss or sex or a relationship or anything. I will most likely stick to going Dutch on dates though because that shit was expensive lmao.
