Is anybody using a convertible car seat ?

We have the seat since she was 5 months but we are still using her infant car seat I’m debating if we should transition already

My June babe is a tiny 14lbs. He will probably reach the height limit before weight. And with the pandemic we hardly go anywhere so no need for us to buy a convertible yet.

I use my 4-in-1 seat in my car and have his infant seat in my moms car because she watches him the most. It’s more convenient that way so we don’t accidentally not give the car seat to one another. My LO is only 2 inches away from maxing out the height for his infant carrier so I do go ahead and get my mom her own “big boy” seat

I said no, but there is nothing wrong with switching, if you want (and it fits your baby of course). My June baby is tiny though (13 lbs) so the infant seat is still the most convenient option.
I switched her older sister (who was also small) around 13 months because we were taking a long road trip and our convertible seat sits up a bit higher. But she would have maxed out the infant seat height limit looong before the weight limit.

My son is 20 lbs and I can’t get him in and out very easily in the infant seat, it’s easier for me to get him. But on super cold days liek Christmas (10°) we use the infant seat so we can throw a blanket over him to carry him in and out
