Is this umbilical stump okay?

I was told it was okay at her appointment TODAY that it was fine. I mentioned that I saw a little oozing from it last night and they still said it was fine but I’m still worried. They said it was the separation process.

Any pus or bad smell should be checked out.

That does not look ok at all. My babies umbilical cord just dried up and fell off it did not get any kind of goo or anything like that.

Clean it with alcohol swabs to dry it out.

My sons did the same! I know it looks scary but we asked drs and even took him to emergency room to get different opinion because we really thought it was infected too. But they all said the same, that it was fine. All we did was no baths (his belly button underwater) just sponge baths basically. One dr did give an ointment to put on with cotton swab so maybe id ask about that! It eventually cleared up and now he’s 2 :)  here is my sons belly button when it fell off.  Get second opinion if you feel something is wrong though!

Looks like my nephews, his got infected and my sister was told to let air get to it and only put him in loose fitting clothing that wouldn't rub against it - no vests etc.
If this were my child, I'd do the above, but also seek a second opinion, they need to be keeping an eye on it.
They're unlikely to give anything for it, but at least being aware and of the time frame, they'll be better able to make the judgement if it does need antibiotics or similar.
A salt bath wouldn't do any harm, just make sure it's the right temperature and pat dry x
