Advice Needed: Bf’s Dad Won’t Talk to Me

I’ve been dating my bf for almost 2 years now and his dad never talks to me. I mean, he’ll say hi if I say hi, but he never says anything first. His mom is super nice and always talks to me, but it concerns me that his dad never says anything to me because it makes me feel like he hates me. My bf tells me that his dad is just not talkative, but wouldn’t it be the polite thing to do to at least say hi instead of just look at me every time he sees me but not say anything. It kinda weirds me out and makes me uncomfortable. Is this a red-flag or am I just overthinking it?
