Help!

So I've been using a birth control ( implant ) since april of 2018. I'm suppose to take it out this year in april. I've been feeling a bit of sharp pain in my lower stomach and I don't really know why. My boyfriend and I had sex only once last week and my period suppose to start since yesterday but it didn't came yet. Should I be worried, even though I'm still on birth control?
