Copper IUD and Hair loss

I have had a copper IUD for nearly 5 months now. While it’s definitely the best contraceptive I’ve been on, I have noticed an increase in the amount of hair I lose when I wash / brush my hair. My hair is also usually dead straight and has started to get a wave in it, especially around my face.

Has anyone ever experienced anything similar and will the hair loss calm down as my body continues to adjust to the IUD?

For background, I’ve been on hormonal contraceptives for 15 years before getting this IUD so many be it is just my hormones adjusting.
