my first time ahhh

So my boyfriend is going to use condoms whereas I will not be taking birth control pills. However I am concerned on what time of the month is it the safest to have sex? This is our first time, and I really don’t want to make a big mistake. I understand a little bit about my fertile window, so does that mean it will be better if we have sex after that time or before? I am also nervous losing my virginity, does anyone have any tips?
