Pump and dump?

Question

So I am planning on mix feeding (breast and formula).
I am going to be celebrating my birthday when my baby is about 6 weeks old. Which I plan on going out that day drinking with friends while hubby stays home with bub.
So I would have to pump and dump while I’m out to keep my supply up right ? 
I’m not going to loose my supply of milk from one day not on the boob will I ? Or will it effect it to much ?

One night won't ruin your supply but your boobs will be do painful if you don't pump while out.

I would NEVER be able to do that!! One I had an emergency csection so that’s the last thing I would be wanting to do. Two I was a huge over supplier so I would literally never be able to do that because my boobs would get rock hard! Honestly you might be able to pump milk before so you don’t have to use formula too! I would be more worried about being in pain them losing my supply but you could be a undersupplier I think it would effect your supply too since it’s sensitive at that stage...

Correct. If your going to be away from baby you need to pump during the same times your baby would feed (about every 3 hours). If you’ve had 1 drink you don’t have to dump, you can save it. But if you are tipsy or have had enough that you can’t drive, then you should dump the milk.

If you can find the baby, you can feed the baby. It’s outdated information you have to pump and dump when drinking alcohol. You would have to be wasted to not be able to give baby your milk. If you’re nervous though, save for milk bath.

The most important time for your supply is the first 3 months. At 6 weeks, a full day, yes you need to pump or it could definitely effect your supply. A few things to understand about “pump & dump” alcohol enters & exits your milk the same way it does your blood stream. 2 beers, 3oz of liquor , or 10 oz of wine will stay in your milk for about 2 hours. If you need to pump (to maintain supply) while there is alcohol in your milk, then yes, it would be advisable to “pump & dump” (or save for a milk bath). 
However, the old thought was that milk produced while drinking would have alcohol in it regardless of time period & would need to be “pumped & dumped” before returning to feeding baby or that even if you are still drunk if you’ve “pumped & dumped” and not drank anymore you are safe to feed. Both of those are false. 
If you are sober, you can feed. If you are drunk, you shouldn’t.

You’ll have to calculate your blood alcohol levels to see when it’d be safe to keep your milk again. The more you drink the longer it’ll take. Pumping and dumping will help keep up the demand. If you don’t pump you’ll be as my LC calls it “taking a vacation” which will signal to your body you don’t need to produce milk. Early on its super important to be consistent with pumping or feeding. You don’t want to be skipping the first few months.
