For us we wanted our kids close in age. And actually they ended up more spaced out then expected. We spoke with our doctor before becoming pregnant and let her know exactly what our ideal was. I am 1 year and 2 weeks younger than my brother. My husband is the oldest of 4 kids born in just under 5 years. It's how we grew up and how we pictured our family. And for us it's been amazing. Our kids are extremely close and love each other so much. They are protective of each other and it's so neat to see how each one is so different. There is so much love. There is also fighting. Kids will be kids. Our oldest is 19 months older than our 2nd. 2nd is 22 months older than our 3rd. Our 3rd is 25 months older than our 4th. My husband is going for a vasectomy Jan 28th lol but honestly we wanted 4 kiddos and we wanted them close and that's exactly what we got. We've never had more than 2 in diapers at the same time. And each child transitioned out of the crib before the next one needed it no issues.

I waited until my youngest turned 1 to try again. I wanted my kids close in age, but also wanted the year to heal, breastfeed, make sure baby is sleeping through the night. I just felt like I'm up to the challenge, and was ready.

My daughter will be almost 4 when our 2nd baby is born. Our plan was to have our kids close together, even bought the stroller for it when I was pregnant the first time around. After our daughter was born so many things in our life took a nosedive at the same time, it’s taken us a few years to get our feet back under us and I’m so grateful we get to keep moving forward.

My son will turn two, two months before my daughter is born . I’m excited to have two I wanted them to be close in age because me and my brother are 5yrs apart and weren’t really close until We were in our teenage years

My kids are 5 years apart. We didn’t plan it that way and honestly didn’t want them that spaced out but life happened and that’s when we ended up getting pregnant. My oldest just turned 10 in December. My 2nd will be 5 in February. And I’m due with my 3rd in August :)

I cant see the unknown icon, but I am pregnant with #2. I wanted a two year age gap between siblings. Enough for my daughter to be a little older and a little more independent, but it is still a close age gap. It also gave my body time to heal and I was able to breastfeed to my goal. I also didnt want my daughter to get old enough that I felt like I was starting over with a newborn. The newborn stage isnt my favorite so I didnt want to get used to an independent child. My daughter is 18 months and the age gap will be 2 years, 3 months. 
Some people prefer a larger age gap. They want their older kids to be independent and more grown up when they have another baby or they have goals they want to reach before another baby. But you will be a parent of younger kids longer with a larger age gap. Other people want a very close age gap so their kids can be in the same stages. I know doctors usually recommend 12-18 months after birth before getting pregnant again so your body can heal. But it means lots of diapers and two kids who cant do much for themselves. Everyone had to find their balance.

My girls are 32 months apart so a little ober 2.5 yrs and for us it was perfect. We are going to start trying for baby number 3 as our youngest  is almost 21 months.
