Has anyone elses pediatrician said blw is dangerous?

I'm wondering if I should switch pediatricians. When mentioning my plans to do baby lead weaning they told me it was dangerous and to just give jar baby food and rice cereal at 4 months which is outdated info. Has anyone else run into this ? Would you switch ?

Sounds like your pedi is outdated and refuses to brush up on current info. 
BLW is great and very beneficial for baby. 
4m is still too young to start solids and rice cereal is not healthy and no nutritional value to it. Also not recommended anymore.

Rice cereal has no nutritional value so now it’s recommended to feed the babies fruits, veggies, and meat purée if you want to go down the purée route. But BLW is completely fine as well. It’s honestly your personal choice and what you feel most comfortable doing.

I really like my pediatrician.
They told me to reduce the breastmilk and feed 1 food a week. I just didn't listen. I feed him as much Breast milk as he wants.
For me it's too much work to find a new doctor. My doctor has been great other than that recommendation

Anything is dangerous if not done properly. Our pediatrician told me I was stupid if I didn’t use BLW. Haha. He said he’s done multiple types of feeding with his 4 kids, and his BLW kiddos are the best eaters by far, and it’s way more convenient. 
Just be educated on it. Know what to do if they choke. Know what gagging is. Your pediatrician should be guiding you, not shaming you.

My ped was all for BLW. She wanted to be bc sure he met all the recommended milestones first, but fully supported our decision. Sure bb said “Gerber  has only been around for what, 100 years?”

I like the baby jars. It’s been fun with my LO. But my pediatrician absolutely forbid cereal. It’s up to you, if you’re not happy, switch. It won’t hurt anything. People do it all the time.
