Prostatitis/prostate infection

If anyone’s SO ever had prostatitis, did you continue to have sex and/or TTC? My husband can’t get in to see his urologist for another two weeks and we aren’t sure what to do. I’m wondering if the bacteria can possibly transfer to me, and also wondering if prostatitis could cause issues with the baby or possible pregnancy (birth defects, increased risk of miscarriage due to damaged sperm...).
