How the hell do people live in humid states?!

I’m so frustrated. I just moved to Washington state from Nevada and my closet has mildew in it! A car we haven’t used in awhile also had mildew. I don’t know how people do this and I honestly wish I had never moved here.

I live in Florida and have never had an issue with mildew in a vehicle or house and it’s ALWAYS humid here.

That sounds like an issue. That isn’t normal.

Dehumidifiers. Use each car more often or blast the heat to dry it out. Unfortunately though, a lot of times you can’t avoid the car mildew. My husband is from Washington state and his car he brought to Arizona had a smell. It was from moisture because of the wet WA weather. It is what it is. As far as your closet, if your home is properly built and has moisture guards and all the proper layering then it shouldn’t have mildew/mold. Your home is either old or has a leak somewhere that lets in the moisture from rain.
