Lending money

Yesterday my partner lent his mum £400 for car repairs and she swears she’ll pay him back but I’m just doubting it so much.

And yes, he had that money in his savings, and if he never got that back, he’d manage, and we’d still get by.

But I just can’t imagine asking my kids to lend me money no matter how bad things were, it seems wrong to me.

And his family just aren’t that close and it seems like they only get in touch or make the effort when they want something.

I don’t know what advice I’m looking for really but I am just frustrated by this situation.
