In need of Motivation

What does everyone do to get motivated to be healthier?

I'm a diabetic who has had two miscarriages and gained 25lbs since this summer. My period just isn't coming this month and I know it's a weight/health issue. I know what to do and how to do it but my motivation is zero. When I think about my losses and my want to conceive, I end up in a depression instead of getting a push to do better.

Has anyone else had this problem? What do you do to push yourself to the gym and away from emotional eating?

I just decided I was going to be healthier. Drink more water and cut out tons of carbs. read labels. Cut out breads and pastas. Move your body each day for an hour. Walk or ride a bike. Don't drink anything but water and unsweet tea. Good luck. Do it for you!

I am 37 with two daughters and a baby on the way. I’m not motivated all of the time. Motivation won’t always be there. But my kids are. So they keep me going. I want to be there for them when they are adults. I want to enjoy my husband. I want to look younger and healthier. I want to be able to hike when I’m 70. Many of our diseases and illnesses are harder on people with pre-existing medical conditions. Heart disease is the number one killer in America. Covid has been proven to affect people with obesity, diabetes, who smoke, and have other medical conditions way more than healthy people. I didn’t want this to take me out. I can’t control the virus but I can help control my health. Who knows what will happen to me in the future but I can try to control what little control I have. And my kids mimic what they see me do. I want them to grow up healthy and feeling good. So even when I don’t feel like working out or eating healthy, I do my best. For the people who depend on me. And so I can run with them for many years. I see too many 40 year olds who act like they are 80 because of their life choices. That’s how I keep going. Plus I feel so much better after a work out. And I feel gross when I eat certain things. It wasn’t always that way. But tastes change and your body gets used to being active. So it starts to hate being inactive.

I'm about to be 31 and never have been prego we've tried for 2 yrs and nothing. My main problem is my hormones are all out of wack from being overweight that I don't ovulate every month. I just was done one day feeling sorry for myself. I got a gym membership and started going. My sister recently started going and asked me to go with her because she was to embarrassed to go by herself. I was only going once a week but now I go every day to support her to. I think having a friend their to motivate u, helps keep ur goals on top.
