Does anyone have experience with weight gain on the depo shot?

Four months ago I started the DIY version of the depo shot, which is subcutaneous and you give yourself. I was down 20 pounds at six months PP from my immediately postpartum weight, and almost at my prepregnancy weight. One week after the shot I gained 5 pounds. I sat at that weight for three months, and a couple weeks after my second shot gained ten more pounds. Has anyone experienced this weight gain on the depo shot? My lifestyle health wise isn’t aMAZing, but I do work on my feet part time and chase after two kids and this was unexpected. I am not almost back up to the weight I was after I gave birth.
