I got the Mirena in August so 5 months now and the first period I got after insertion lasted about 19 days. And the periods after that lasted about 8 days. My regular periods would last 7 days and they would be painful which is why I got the iud to cut my period off a bit and so I wouldn’t have to go through the pain each month. My iud periods have been painful as well (back pain and bad cramps). When do periods usually stop? Should I go back and ask my doctor if I should wish it out a bit more or just get it removed? I did go in to get checked after the first period ended they thought the long period was weird but didn’t say there was anything wrong. My last doctor said my symptoms didn’t call out endo. Anyone experienced the same thing? Any advice? 🥺😭
