Renting

Is it more reasonable to rent an apartment or small house? It's just me and my boyfriend living in an apartment and I really can't stand it. It's not really the size that's the problem, but I'm just so unhappy with the lack of privacy. Our lease is up in September and we'll probably just renew it for another year cause there's no way we can afford to move in 8 months, but I really want to get into a house asap.

Cost of living is very low here. Min wage is $7.25/hr
