If your baby isn’t sitting up yet have you started blw?

My baby is turning 7 months still not sitting up. I’ve been doing purées as approved by my ped even though she’s not sitting up unassisted. But I don’t want her to be “behind” on blw as a read 7-8 months is important for blw and not to do purées for too long. But I’ve been scared to give her a non puréed food since she isn’t sitting up. Sounds silly I know. Just looking for advice FTM. 😂❤️

As long as they can sit up assisted you can do blw.

From my understanding the recommendation is not necessarily that they sit up completely unassisted. That’s ideal, but if babe can sit with minimal assistance (your hands on their hips as they sit to prevent falling) you should be good. The main point is that they aren’t slumping over because that could easily effect airways.

I was wondering this too.. i saw a guide that said they should be sitting to start and my baby (6 months) isn’t yet so i was planning to start with purées for now i guess?
