I’m so frustrated!!

Kristine

My son has never been a consistent sleeper. For about 3 to 4 weeks at a time I will get great sleep! He will nap during the day and he will sleep from 6:30 PM to 6 AM. However, after these 3 to 4 weeks I will get 2 to 3 weeks of constant wake ups during the night, or extremely early wake up like like 4:30 AM ready for the day. It’s been like this his entire life. During these 2 to 3 weeks of constant/ early wake ups I am exhausted and frustrated! It feels like it’s never ending because it happens so frequently. In the beginning when he was first born it did seem to correlate with sleep regression‘s or growth spurts. But now at almost 2 years old I feel like there should be more consistency. We tried moving his bed time to 7 but it didn’t help. Maybe my expectations are too high, but shouldn’t he be more consistent and have only occasional nights where he is up? Not weeks on end all the time?

We are lucky as the early mornings for us now mean the 5:45-6:30 range. He WAS sleeping 7pm-7am and also took a 2.5 hour nap daily so we were spoiled for about 6 months 😆 I think he is going through a regression for the past month. Early wake ups and refuses to go down at night. Naps are one hour or less. I feel for you! 4:30 is rough.. It’s got to get better eventually! I truly don’t know how people handle a newborn with a 2 year old 😬 I miss sleeping in so bad !

I don’t have any advice but I can sympathize, my son seems to go through the same type of sleeping spurts. 😞
