Co-worker’s wife called me

I need to rant... Not sure if this is the right group

I have a male workmate who started working at our company recently and we're currently on the same team working on a project. So we agreed to discuss a project on of the evenings. He never said he was married nor did he wear a ring. Anyways When the time came, I called him but he wasn't picking.

So I messaged him: I'm looking for you, where have you gone?

I decided to take a shower, while I waited, then heard my phone ringing.

Message came through from him: Am all ready for you now.

I replied: Am busy will let you know when done.

I get out the shower and my phone keeps ringing. First missed call number was his, then a few calls from a different unknown number. Unknown number calls and I answer to a lady who sounds irritated.

Lady: Do you have space at your place?

Me: What? Space for who, sorry I don't have your number in my contacts, who is this?

Lady: Do you have another room, I want to drop off someone at your house?

Me: Huh, no, with Covid, am not taking visitors, who is this?

Lady: No you need to look for space, because I want to drop of some s**t. I want to drop of someone

Me: Who?

Lady: (Workmate's name, let's say Daniel)

Me: Daniel? What? Why? Don't understand what you're talking about

Lady: No, you know exactly what I'm talking about! He's rubbish, so am dropping off the s**t at your house. I don't need him, so you can have him

Me (in shock but laughing a bit): What? I don't want him... I think you need to talk to him and not be calling me

Lady: You already have him, you have his heart and I don't want him... So am bringing the rubbish there...

Me: Ok

I then cut the phone, blocked her, he then calls me apologising saying it's his wife. Lol...

How am I supposed to work with this man with his wife thinking I'm his mistress...

ETA: In hindsight, I do realise that I shouldn't have texted that and should have just said I was busy. I understand why the wife was triggered, so yes I learned my lesson...
