I just did something so ridiculous

So I babysit 2 babies in my home so I can stay home with my son. One of the babies comes at 6:45 in the morning. I get up at 6 to get ready before she is dropped off. Well this morning my 8-month-old son woke up at 6:15 crying to be fed, so I didn’t have time to get fully ready. I was still in my pajamas with no bra. By the time I fed my son and went to put him back in bed, I realized it was just a few minutes until they should be here, and I didn’t feel like I had time to change clothes. But I obviously didn’t want the dad of the little girl to see me like that, and I also didn’t want to get my sleeping baby back out of bed and risk him waking up when they came in. But I realized that there was a rather large baby doll in our spare room, so I went and grabbed that and wrapped it up in a large blanket like I sometimes do with my son in the mornings if he is needing to be held when the little girl is dropped off, then I went and sat back in my living room chair. The way it’s positioned, the dad of the little girl can’t see who I’m holding, and my chest was covered by the wrapped up doll, so overall, I feel like it was a win!

Edited to add: Wow, for those making a big deal about how I obviously had time to get ready, no I didn’t. To get dressed I would have had to go back upstairs to literally the furthest room away from where I was and fumble around in the dark for my clothes because my husband was still sleeping, and of course this was the time that I forgot to set out clothes the night before. I have a 6-hook bra that takes a little bit to get on, I don’t even own a sports bra, and I don’t have any hoodies that fit me comfortably since I’ve had my son. I have very large boobs, so it’s completely obvious when I’m not wearing a bra, so I wasn’t just going to answer the door like that.

When I put my son down, it was 3 minutes until the latest time that the dad drops off, sometimes he’s earlier, so for all I knew he could be walking up to my door at that very moment. If the inside door isn’t open when he walks up, he rings the doorbell, which is loud and wakes my son. He’s had trouble sleeping lately, so I wanted to prevent anything I could from waking him.

The baby doll and blanket were literally in the next room—steps away, so I quickly grabbed it, tossed a blanket over the baby and me, opened the front door so the dad would know to come in and sat down.

Gosh, I didn’t think I would have to explain it to death. I was just trying to share what I thought was a kind of funny story.
