She’s finally here!!!
2/10/21 at 2:06 am my baby girl Aaliyah was born! So I had a membrane sweep at 2pm 2/9, and a few hours later at 4pm my contractions were 10mins apart, then at 5pm they were 6mins apart, when we got to the hospital at 7:30pm they were every 4mins apart. I was only 3-4cm dilated, but contractions were coming, I labored for a total of 10hrs. At midnight I got on a yoga ball and oh man that had me sitting low and having even stronger contractions and so much pressure. Was on the ball for an hour (until 1am) and got checked again and I was only 4-5cm so I got some IV pain meds. I wanted an epidural but I had to wait... well about 45-50 mins later I think I’m peeing myself, so I ask my husband to help me up and to go to the bathroom. So I get up from the bed and there was a gush/trickle and I’m trying to hold it like an idiot lmao tell my husband “I’m peeing and I can’t stop” 😂 next thing you know I have an uncontrollable urge to push 😲 I was just thinking oh shit! I call the nurses and tell them “I think I have to push” I’m still standing next to my bed in a puddle of my water unable to really move. They get me into the bed finally and things are moving super fast, I have to push but they kept telling me not to. But you can’t stop it she was ready to come out hell or high water. I was super scared and asked “can I still get the epidural I need the epidural” 😂🤣 too late at this point. But my husband held me through it all and kept telling me I got this I’m strong I can do this, I squeezed him for dear life and at one point I believe I bit him lol. But my dr finally showed up and I was able to actually push push instead of trying to hold them back. So after two deep pushes she was finally here. At the time everything was fast scary and overwhelming, but looking back at it now it was kind of funny and I’m glad i did it. Here’s to all the February babies 🥰
