To say this wedding was a challenge is putting it lightly. On top of making it pandemic compliant, Oklahoma was hit by the massive snowstorm that pummeled the Midwest/South. We got over a foot of snow, which is unheard of for this state (and especially my city!) and the most we’ve ever had in state history!

Our original pastor couldn’t make it (he was driving down from Arkansas), the courthouse closed, my husband’s best friend who was going to be our back-up officiant discovered his registration had lapsed and wouldn’t be done in time 🤦🏻‍♀️. Finally, a fellow writer friend of my referred me to her pastor and he offered to do it.

We had it here in our living room. It was just the pastor, myself, my husband, and his best friend in person. We all wore masks and stayed within social distancing measures. Our other witness (the pastor’s wife sick with a migraine), watched it online from phone.

It was tiny. It was a hassle. It was SO. WORTH. IT. 🥰 It will definitely be a hell of a story to tell our children someday.
