Is my husband right?

Question

My husband was telling me I'm supposed to throw away the razor cartilages you can buy to refill your razor each time you use them. 
I have never heard this before,but I use venus brand but the kind the kind you can throw away,the kind you can buy more razor blades. 
Back last year I must had shaved down there with an dull razor that I didn't know about but I'm have been experiencing a horrible razor burn that lingers every day, and every day throughout the day and night. 
I really don't know exactly how to treat it other than buying some vitamin e lotion since some razors have that on it. I thought about putting aloe lotion.
My question is? Is my husband right? How many times can I use those razor refills before using a new one? I have been using it til I think when it's dull.

I use each one for 3 weeks to a month or so. I can't imagine throwing it away every time. They are like $7 each!

I use mine until I notice the moisturizing strip is fading a little and I’m not getting as close of a shave. I use Josie Maran argan oil to keep razor burn away, it works like a charm!! Olive oil is a really good cheap alternative too

nooo not each time ! you’re correct, you use them until they’re dull but i think you may be over using them if they’re so dull they give you razor burn. once you notice you have to make more than two passes in the same spot is when you should replace, he’s probably use to using razors on his face which get duller sooner

I’ll use a disposable razor 2 to 3 times. I also use pfb Vanish after to prevent ingrown hairs and razor burn. I use an electric razor for my bikini area

No way! Not everytime. I use mine for a month then replace it. They are expensive.

Is he saying after one use, toss it? If so, don’t do that. Unless he wants to buy them for you each time which is around $20/$30 lol..

“Technically” to prevent ingrowns and infections and all that good stuff it’s RECOMMENDED to use a new razor each time. Now since they are so expensive, they suggest 2 uses out of them and then to get rid of it. Only because the bacteria build from your skin cells, hair, and just being in the shower, the humidity etc is what’s being accumulated on it. So in order to prevent any of those thing from happening thats why they suggest a new razor EACH time. But it is very expensive to do that. To prevent ingrowns too, you shave the direction of the way your hair grows and very gentle. Not super hard, barely use any pressure, exfoliate and use creams before after etc.

The "disposable" ones, you should use once or twice. The ones where you apply new blades on your handle, are to be used many times. I'll personally use  the same razor for 2-4 weeks, depending on how much I use them. My hubby on the other hand, 1 week tops lol.
