Would you say something?

Question

My friend is ALWAYS hot, even in 20°F weather she will be wearing a t shirt. 
She has 2 kids, they’re three and 6 months old. The issue is, since she’s always hot, she dresses her kids like she does herself. 
Last week it was 35°F almost every day and she doesn’t think she should turn on the heat in her house since she feels warm. 
And both her kids are wearing just a t shirt and diaper and the baby is wearing a onesie. I’m like aren’t they cold?
And she says no they don’t act like it. 
But they HAVE to be. How can a baby not be cold when it’s 35°F?
How would you say something to her that she needs to dress her kids more appropriately?

I wouldn’t. They spend every day in the same house as her so they’re probably used to the temperatures she likes and find them comfortable too. Kinda like how a person in some horrible cold place thinks 50*F is shorts and sandals weather while someone in a crazy hot place thinks that’s snow coat and mittens weather. It just depends on what you’re used to.

No I wouldn’t. In many cultures this is perfectly normal. In fact in Nordic countries babies regularly sleep in the garden in baby hutches to get used to the cold. 
If someone said this to me I’d tell them to parent their own kids and leave me to parent mine!!

My kids are usually stripping down inside, removing socks and pants. I am always cold and my husband is always warm. Her kids may just run warm like her. We keep the house at 68.

Mind your own. I mean that in the least offensive way. It’s best just to know when to pick your battles. She’s going to dress her kids the way she wants regardless. If they go out in public like that, trust me. Someone will go out of their way to say something.

My mom was the same way growing up and now I’m the same. They’re probably used to it to be honest. My baby is always super hot too and gets sweaty easily like me so he’s always wearing less than what my friend’s kid is wearing but she’s always freezing and her kid is bundled up. If it’s not your kid and they’re not outside like that I don’t think you need to worry much.

I think that’s crazy cold especially for 6 months old. I assume her house temperature must be between 40-50 F if outside temperature is 33 with no heat. I would personally touch the kids and if their hands and feet are cold it means they are cold and said something like “it might be warm enough for you but maybe you should put some warm pants, socks and thisrt on kids, just to be safe. If it’s a good friend she should acknowledge it and don’t get upset. I am the opposite, always cold but my daughter runs hot so I dress her way lighter then me. But honestly not having heat in 33 F it’s way to much...
