What do they usually do at yo first doctor appointment ? This my first pregnancy

Both times they check me down there with a swab, take out blood, and do an ultrasound. I was 9-10 weeks.

It’s different for every doctor. Usually they make you give a urine sample and do a dating scan, but not always. You’ll probably need to fill out some paperwork about your history, LMP, etc. so it’s a good idea to get there a little early and bring your phone for contact info. My dr gave me a big book about pregnancy, along with a timeline and explanation of available tests (NIPT, first trimester screen, etc). She also gave me a timeline of prenatal appointments so I had a better idea of how often I’d be seen.

Some docs will do a dating scan, but some don’t. Mostly just talk and run blood tests/pee test. This is your time to ask any questions you may have. They will make sure you start on pre natal vitamins if you haven’t already.

I had a pap smear done at my first appointment, but that’s because I was due for one! Then we talked about my health background, and that was it.
