OBGYN visit

So I haven’t had a period in about 8 months. I’ve been having cramping and sharp pains so I finally went to the gynecologist today and she said I have to come in for an ultrasound because she couldn’t find the top of my ovary or uterus.... idk what that even means but she had a slightly worried look on her face. Any idea what this could mean?

it turns out I have PCOS the lab results came back today.
