Buying a car seat too early?

Lmao my MIL again criticizing me... I’m about 8 weeks pregnant and this will be my second baby. I’ve been in love with a certain infant car seat forever and now I’m expecting I bought it. My MIL says “you’re barely pregnant and buying a car seat already?! Jesus” I’m so offended. Is it just the hormones? Or is she being a B. LOL thanks.

Buying big expensive baby items in the first trimester is unusual, but do you! Her opinion literally does not matter, just ignore her and do what you want!

There is no “too early” when it comes to doing what you want, during your pregnancy, for your baby.. That is completely your call. There’s no magic number to determine when it’s “okay” to start shopping.. that’s a personal decision!

I personally would wait quite a bit longer - not because it's early in the pregnancy but car seats have expiration dates. 
Also be sure that the car seat actually fits the car(s) you will be using. As in gets the correct angle (should be 45*).

After reading the comments, this will be an unpopular opinion. She's being a bitch 🤷🏻‍♀️ her comment was unnecessary. You know what you want, and you bought it! There's nothing wrong or unusual about that. All these "rules" that people come up with surrounding pregnancy like deciding it's ok to shop at a certain week or it's ok to announce at a certain week are all bullshit lol tell her to mind her own.

I did all my car seat research (and strollers too) and bought mine around 10 weeks last time.

I bought a car seat and stroller combo at like 12 weeks. 🤷‍♀️ To each their own. I actually.. at 8 months pregnant bought ANOTHER car seat because it had better features and I liked it better. My husband was like wtf 😂 I said don't question a pregnant woman about to give birth just get the carseat. And I am so glad I did I was IN LOVE with her new car seat when it came in and the entire time she used it.

You can buy whatever you want even if your not pregnant. If your going to use it, find a good price or just want it now.. I don’t see the big deal. Maybe she thinks it’s taboo or something
