Fetal Doppler help please

Hi you guys. So I’m going to be purchasing a fetal Doppler sooner than later..,.. I’ve also read upon some conversations on here about them as well. One of them being that it’s easy to confuse the baby’s heart beat with the placenta? And second being it’s very possible to hear the baby’s heart beat but our own heart can sometimes mask it depending on how early:far along you are.... seemed like some valid points. Can you guys tell me your thoughts? I’d love to hear from you all personally... it’ll put me at ease!!!
