How long did it take your baby to grow out of newborn sizes?

Just curious, I'm pregnant with my first and a little unsure on all this. I've been getting a mix of newborn and 0-3 months and a few 3-6 months. I don't know if I should buy some more newborn sizes or size up? Advice is appreciated

Skip newborn sizes unless you have a preemie. Most babies do fine in 0-3. They grown out of newborn very quickly.

Well he’s 12 weeks and wearing 3-6/6 months clothes. I think he started wearing 0-3 after about a month.

It really depends on the baby. My son was in newborn for 3 months or longer and was not a preemie. He just didn’t grow as quickly as most babies. He was still wearing 9 month clothes at 18 months, but he’s 2 now wearing 2t. It just took him a while to catch up. Some babies skip newborn size completely. Some only wear newborn for a week.

My daughter was in newborn clothes and diapers for like 2 -3 months . Everyone said she’d grow out of them quick and she was gaining weight fine just was still able to fit the stuff. But there’s no harm in only buying a little bit and reusing, regardless it will get grown out of. 0-3 she was in for about 2ish months!

Newborn useless in 2 weeks 0-3 useless in 1.5m-2m , 3m-6m useless by 2.5-3m. My son is almost 4m and is in 6-9 m he's around 17lbs 21in long

NB for 0-4 weeks old, 0-3M 5-7 weeks old, 3-6M since 8 weeks old. He'll be 11 weeks old on Friday. You'll get the most use for the longest period in the 3-6M. I was surprised to be in NB significantly longer than 0-3M. They barely lasted 3 weeks for us.

I haven’t been pregnant but all my friends children went out of new born size within weeks one of my friend her 2 children never fitted into newborn as they where born quiet big and long. As best to have a good selection of 0-3mnths and newborn just in case.
