Irritating boyfriend?

Ok so I’ve been with my boyfriend 4 years. 15/16- 19/20. After being with someone for so long things become routine. I’ve always wanted to go to a country bar and go dancing when I mentioned it to him he said “oh God no” with a laughing emoji. He’s so closed minded on somethings and it irritates me. Whenever I mention going alone he doesn’t want that either because of other men...So I can’t win. What should I do?

You tell him what night you’re going and if he doesn’t want to go, you go enjoy yourself 🤷‍♀️

you should honestly get ready to go out and ask him if he’s coming. even if you don’t end up going THERE, i’d still leave the house for a while just to get some time to myself. his actions will tell you a ton at that point. 
i understand there’s some things our SO’s don’t like that we do, but that’s what being an SO is about.. sacrifice and making dreams come true for the sake of seeing your partner happy (with exceptions of course) it’s been 4 years, if he can’t get off his ass and have one good night with you- then i don’t think you want to spend any more time waiting around for him to change his mind. it’s okay for them to not be “the one” it’s okay to have it hurt.. it’s not okay to give up some of the things that make you happy because he “doesn’t want to”
my husband and i have never been to a club, or even out dancing or at a bar (i was 22 and he was 19 when we got married lol) but it’s something we’d both eventually find the time and money to be able to do, for the sake of one another. we have a kid now, and one on the way, so everything’s not as easy as “drop and go” like before, but you still have to prioritize making time for one another. he doesn’t have to specifically go dancing at that country bar with you to fulfill this, but if he’s not willing to spend some quality time with you i think there’s plenty of men out there that would drop everything they’re doing to meet up and drink with you

You should do it anyway, or with a friend. He shouldn't control what you do. It's dancing.
