Potty training
My daughter is almost 19 months old and I’m considering potty training but only if she’s ready. Ever since she turned 1 she would always come into the bathroom with me and now tells me what step is next, flush, pull pants up etc.
We’ve had the summer infant potty in her playroom that she likes flushing and sits on it but only with her diaper on. She’ll say diaper off but when I go to take it off she says no.
She’ll sit on the potty if I put on Elmo, cocomelon, etc potty training videos but won’t pee until she’s back in her diaper.
She’s been getting rashes so I’ve kept her diaper off, sometimes up to 2 hours and she would not have any accidents. She tells me put diaper on so I do and once it’s on, within minutes she pees.
Has anyone been in the same situation and start potty training and was successful? If so, any tips to make her go on the potty and not hold it until her diaper is back on? I don’t want to force it if she’s not ready. Thanks!
