Why does a man start lying

Question

He's been sweet and we never had a heated fight, no rough problems but then he starts lying about his whereabouts....why would this happened out of the blue? :( Ive never nagged about where he goes.

This started happening in my former relationship out of the blue as well, we were talking about getting engaged and all seemed fine, no fighting etc, I dismissed it but eventually it turned out he was talking to and seeing his ex, he said it was as a friend (she confirmed) but he felt like he couldn't tell me because he felt I wouldn't be okay with it. I believed him, but still ended the relationship.  Getting along is a great thing, but I think honesty is very crucial in a relationship. Unless he's doing a surprise for you or something, there should be no reason to lie. It isn't about you.

Unfortunately the quality of the man that you have chosen, is not probably the best person for you. If he’s lying he’s covering his ass because he’s up to no good. The only time someone should ever tell a white lie or any kind of lie is for a surprise party, or they are planning an engagement, or something good, not something bad like cheating or drug use or anything bad. You’ve got is telling you something is wrong with the situation, and it probably is, if a guy is lying about where he’s been, it’s probably because he’s somewhere we shouldn’t be.
