A dog in an apartment?

So my SO and I are moving to an apartment (its over 1,000 square ft and wooden floors) and my great pyrenees mix would be home by himself. My SO leaves at 5am and comes home at 4pm and I leave at 7am and come home at 5:30pm. Would this be took long for him without him going outside? We are right behind a massive size dog park where I or my SO can take him. Typically he is fine and really calm most the time. He is 2 years old. I'm looking at getting more treat toys and getting him a dog bed as well so he can be more occupied during the day. We have an extra bedroom that would have his stuff and safe space. Is this enough for him? We didn't expect to move into an apartment last minute and are getting a house after our lease is up.
