In-law Support
My in-laws have been pushing recently that we need to stay with them when baby gets here since we "need help and can't handle it on your own". I'm not working and my husband has paternity leave, so we'll both be at home at least 6 weeks with baby (then husband is work from home anyways, so he'll still be around).
The problem is there's both cultural and religious differences, and some of the things they suggest are very unsafe for baby. But even before the pregnancy, I'm extremely introverted and it's draining when I'm around them for too long (or most people) so I'd much rather just have it be the three of us for the first while.
This is our first kid, but I think it's something we can definitely handle ourselves, and our in-laws are less than 5 minutes away if we do need something. Any advice how I can convince them, or will it just be easier to keep avoiding a direct answer until baby comes? (Husband thinks we can handle it at home too, but he also tends to have a hard time saying no to his parents)
