copper iud

so i’ve been off birth control completely for almost 2 years because when i was on it my acne got so much worse, gained SO much weight super quickly, depression increased dramatically. almost as soon as i stopped taking it/ got implant removed i felt so much better mentally and physically. I just recently had a pregnancy scare and i think i need to be using more than just condoms now, but i’m so scared to be back on hormones since i just finally lost most of the weight i gained and cleared up my skin. I’m thinking about trying the copper iud, does anyone have any opinions or suggestions or would like to share their experiences with this?
