Gardening tips?

My daughter is 5, and has been begging for a garden! She sneaks home apple and orange seeds from school at least once a week. I do not have a green thumb, whatsoever, but she has been begging to start a garden. It’s finally the right weather, so we’re staring with a grape tomato plant. 
Grape tomatoes are her favorite snack, and her great grandfather always grows and gives us a bunch, and her favorite is when they’re straight off the vine! 
Please offer this mama any tips you may have, as I am pretty clueless. We’ll be going to visit her great grandfather next week for him to give us some tips, as well.

If you can do above ground garden or raised garden. Tractor supplies and certain other stores do have a garden / green house set up that you can move. One of my relatives got the setup that move an right before  hits 40 in  September she brought in her garage which is a great idea .her plans grew until November.

Aww that is so awesome! How exciting that she wants to learn something so beneficial!! Raised garden beds are definitely the way to go! And try not to overwater! Always feel the soil to make sure that it’s not too moist before you water. It’s a lot easier to save a dry plant than a drowning plant! Lol

Another thing I always did was put a bean in a plastic bag with a damp paper towel, hang it in the window and it will grow then you can plan it in dirt. She can watch it grow all the way to a seedling.

Oh my heart! She's so cute! 
We have just started a veg garden with my 3 year old. I joined local Facebook groups, they've been very helpful for knowing when to sow and plant as they are in the same climate as us.
