What is an acceptable window for taking birth control pills?

Hi, so I’m about to start the pill, (Minastrin 24 to be exact) and was thinking of taking it at 5pm every day. I was wondering, what’s an acceptable amount of time to take it if something comes up and I might be late? Like what is my window of taking it that it won’t mess up my cycle? (The latest I should take it by if I do miss 5pm?) like 5:15? 5:45? Would any time after 6pm be pushing it? This is my first time doing the pill so thank you for your insight!

I was on the pill for ten years without issues. I always took it in the morning with my breakfast but never worried if that was at 7am or 9am for example.

In order for it to be fully effect you have to take it at the same time everyday and you usual have an hour or so window if you forgot to take it before it start being less effective. 
So make sure you take it at a time where you shouldn’t have any delays.
I used to take my pill at 10pm every night when I was going to bed because it was part of my night routine. During the day with school and college and works was to messy to remember

On the hour is a good time

I never took mine at the same time daily. I did take it daily though. 0 issues.
