Just found out we're expecting and I'm debating if I should buy my wedding dress now for our wedding.. thoughts?

Hello all! My fiance and I just found out we are expecting and we are so excited! I'm hoping all goes well with out first ever positive! We were planning on getting married August 2022 and I'm debating if I should buy my dream wedding dress now as I will be due 9 months before my wedding? I'm not sure if that will give me enough time to order the dress, wait for it to come in and then do the necessary alterations... Anyone have any thoughts or experiences?

I would probably buy it now and get a size up. Then have it altered closer to the wedding date. Then you won’t be worried about it not coming in on time.

Something similar happened to me with our first baby. We were engaged and then we were preggo. Our wedding was scheduled a year after the birth. I ended up buying my dress but had to get it altered a few sizes down as we approached the wedding date and my dress still turned out beautifully. You can also speak with the dress store to see how long it takes for dresses to arrive and how long it takes for alterations if you want to wait until after the birth. If they only take a few months for everything, you can probably also wait a few months after the birth but just keep in mind you will likely still have to alter it as you get closer to the date.
