Too early for floor bed?

Question

I’m due with number 2 in a month, but my 15 month old still uses a crib.
I could easily buy another crib for baby #2, but I really love the idea of my daughter having a Montessori style bedroom with a floor bed. And if I don’t have to buy another crib, that would be a bonus for sure.
Has anyone done this yet? How did it go?

We transitioned to a floor bed at 6 months!

We are soon 😊 same reasoning as you. Due with our third baby in July so I want to get our December 2019 baby a mattress to put on the floor because I know he is still learning how to get off things safely but feel he would love a floor bed for now.

Following this thread! We are building a floor bed for our girl because her sibling is coming in November (hopefully). So I’m kind of in the same boat!

Yep, my son has been on the floor in a very babyproof room for 3 months (since he was 13 months old) and it works great. Much better than when he was in the crib and his sister would come get in his crib and bother him.
