I think my best friend likes me?

We hang out 2-3 times a week. It’s our girl time that we get to chat/vent, drink some wine & watch our shows. We’ve been best friends for 5 years. Today while watching our show, she started rubbing my leg & then made her way to my hand. She was playing with my fingers for a half hour. I just decided to gently hold her hand. Then I froze & didn’t know what to do! My heart rate skyrocketed. She eventually let go to look at her phone.
I have no clue what happened. Should I bring it up or act like it didn’t happen?

Are you comfortable continuing this friendship without knowing if she has feelings for you ? This happened to me in high school. My best friend of 4 years would spend the night with me, stay over a lot during the week and weekends, do on trips with my family. (You know the whole inseparable friendships that get you through these awful years). It was our 11th grade year and I found myself in a pretty serious relationship and she continued to tell me how much she HATED this guy and eventually her actions towards me changed. She came over to stay the night and kind of had the same thing happen and I asked her what was going on, she exploded with all this pent up emotion. She had fallen in love with me and couldn’t watch me love someone else, so she kept her distance. When I explained I didn’t have similar feelings I lost my best friend. So my advice is be ready to be there for that person and understand if you don’t have mutual feelings that you both could end up with broken hearts.
