I want a new ring.

So my fiancé and I got engaged the end of 2015 we've together for almost 9 years. YES, I KNOW THATS A LONG TIME TO WAIT LOL

Don't fret tho! We're finally getting married this fall 😂

He picked my ring (bridal set) and proposed. I sentimentally love my ring but I don't know if I like it anymore.

We had went to Zales right after having our daughter almost 2 years ago to get my ring resized and the lady was telling us about how we can "trade in" my rings and the $800 he paid for it would go towards the new ring. He was like "Yeah let's go look and see if there's anything you like" I declined and said I love my ring.

It's a marquise cut and I am CONSTANTLY snagging clothes or scratching my kid with it! And it's sharp! You can bring blood. Also I just don't think it looks good on MY finger anymore.

How do I restart the conversation? Like I know he doesn't mind and will literally buy me whatever ring I want (within reason 😂) but I feel like it would hurt his feelings 🥲😔

He returned his ring I got him 2 years later because he didn't like it anymore. Sooo. I really SHOULDN'T feel bad. Lol

I just want the ring we get married with to be THE ring.
